some reading about dilemmas regarding young, creative musician

http://www.innercirclemusic.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=54

i learned some new words here. you have to check out the myspace link in the first post on the forum. if you just have a few minutes, read just the myspace post.

interesting seeing these ideas written out and discussed. it seemed almost like seeing inner struggle written out as blog reply conversation. it reminded me of reading plato's dialogues just a bit, as someone else in the replies pointed out. good work, guys. great vocabulary, dude.

  1. great vocabulary, dude?? oh my god, his little clot/clog, snicker/guffaw shit has to go! pick a word...we're not idiots. his writing was cough, cough *asinine* because it was like he kept using the thesaurus app every ten seconds. seriously,
a paucity of the exegesis of imbroglios or impasses

also known as, the lack of discussion surrounding a new musician's quest to be heard. geesh

  2. mr. iyer, please forgive my desperation in which i so long to recreate the great intellectual letters of composer greats such as schumann, wagner, and debussy. i may have an ad nauseam vocabulary but i have yet to figure out the applicable situation to use there, their, or they're.

  3. Nietzsche philosophized with a hammer, and I'm sick of seeing those who compose with a flaccid-rubbermallet getting their music out because they tacitly go along with this system of mediocre musical promulgation.

nice. i appreciate the obnoxious vocab, and it's nice to know those words exist and people know them i guess...
he made a good point in that thesaurus. and he fucked B.F. Skinner...which is a feat. I don't think too many educators would be happy about that, though.

you should be friends with this guy
